Spring is in the Air

Spring is slowly approaching, and  is a wonderful time of year that represents regeneration, growth, and empowerment. It is a time of new beginnings.  The temperature will increase and flowers and plants will begin to grow. The harshness of winter will slowly dissolve, while spring will make a beautiful and grand entrance. At the Haven we are committed to the ideas of spring, and its transformational powers. Changing lives in 90 days is our motto, but we can not do it alone. We need your help.  We have many volunteer opportunities open, from cleaning and organizing to child care.  If you are looking to volunteer please call Robin at 864-582-6737, the process to become a volunteer is simple. We have an immediate need for child care volunteers for our Daily Living Skills classes, Monday-Friday 9am-10am.

Why do families become homeless?

Families who seek shelter have no financial resources or supportive network. Mitigating factors of family homelessness include loss of employment, lack of education, untreated medical and/or mental health issues, substance abuse and addiction, past traumas and family violence. Often homeless families enter shelter with just the clothes on their backs.
